Jason Kort

Partner

Jason Kort is a partner with Berkes Crane Santana & Spangler LLP. He brings a broad background representing plaintiffs and defendants in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation. His practice currently focuses on personal injury, insurance defense, toxic torts, medical malpractice, and product liability litigation. From pre-trial case investigation, drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and jury trials, Mr. Kort possesses extensive litigation experience.

A graduate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, he served as a senior research editor for the school’s International and Comparative Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Kort was a judicial extern for the Honorable George H. Wu of the United States District Court of California in Los Angeles. He also volunteered with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law.

Mr. Kort  is a member of DRI and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a member of Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), the nation’s largest association of gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in the field of law. He has published in the Daily Journal and spoken at conferences for the Emerging Environmental Claims Managers Association. From 2018-2021, he has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer, Rising Star which is an honor bestowed on fewer than 2.5% of California Lawyers. He is admitted to practice before all California State Courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
